Privacy Policy for the app “Mokdar Postiz”
This policy applies to the social media app “Mokdar Postiz” (including “Mokdar Postiz-IG”). For visitors of this website, the website privacy policy applies.

2. What is Mokdar Postiz?
Mokdar Postiz is the scheduling and publishing tool of Mokdar Software. It is based on the open-source software Postiz and is operated by us on our own servers in Germany. We use it to publish content (text, images, videos, reels, stories) on the social media accounts of Mokdar Software and of clients who have explicitly instructed us to do so and connected their account themselves.
The app is not a public service: there is no open sign-up. An account is only connected when its owner logs in through the official login of Meta (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn, TikTok or Google/YouTube and confirms the permissions.
3. Data we process
After your consent in the platform's login dialog we only receive the data needed for publishing:
- account data: ID, name, username and profile picture of the connected Instagram professional account, Facebook Page or LinkedIn/TikTok/YouTube account;
- platform access tokens and their expiry date;
- the content we schedule and publish for you (text, images, videos, hashtags, time) and the IDs and status of published posts;
- if granted: comments on your own posts, to display and reply to them in the app, and basic statistics of your posts (e.g. reach, likes);
- technical logs (time, platform API error messages) for troubleshooting.
We do not receive your password, do not read private messages and do not collect data about your followers beyond what is needed to manage comments.
4. Purpose and legal basis
The data is used exclusively to schedule and publish posts on behalf of the account owner, to check the publishing status and – if granted – to manage comments. The legal basis is the contract or order with the account owner (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and the consent given at login (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); technical logs are based on our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We do not sell data, do not use it for advertising, profiling or training AI models, and do not pass it on to data brokers.
5. Recipients
Data is only transmitted to the platform where content is published (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. for Facebook/Instagram, LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, TikTok Technology Ltd., Google Ireland Ltd. for YouTube) and only as far as necessary for publishing. Our hosting provider in Germany processes the data as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR). There is no disclosure to other third parties unless we are legally obliged.
6. Storage location and retention
All data is stored on servers operated by Mokdar Software in Germany (EU).
- access tokens and account data: until you disconnect, remove the app in the platform settings or request deletion – then deleted within 30 days;
- scheduled and published posts in the app: while the order is active, then deleted within 30 days (posts on the platform itself stay there until you delete them);
- technical logs: 90 days at most;
- backups: automatically overwritten after 60 days at the latest.
Statutory retention obligations (e.g. for invoices) remain unaffected.
7. Security
The app is only reachable via HTTPS; access is restricted to Mokdar Software and password-protected. Tokens are not shared with third parties and are not stored in the browser. Regular updates and backups protect against data loss.
8. Disconnecting and deleting data
You can revoke access yourself at any time: Facebook → Settings → Apps and websites; Instagram → Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites; LinkedIn → Settings → Data privacy → Permitted services. How to request deletion of all data is explained under Data Deletion.
9. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR) and the right to withdraw consent with effect for the future. A message to info@mokdar-software.de is enough. You may also lodge a complaint with the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
10. Changes
We update this policy when the app or the law changes. The version published here applies.
